MIS & Mega Foot Course 2025
Overview
In June 2025, Dr. Mark Maritz travelled to Munich to serve as Faculty Educator at the Arthrex MIS & Mega Foot Course — a rigorous two-day programme hosted at the Arthrex Lab GmbH and designed to train surgeons in the full spectrum of minimally invasive and reconstructive foot surgery. Co-facilitated alongside Dr. Primoz Potocnik, the course combined didactic lectures, sawbone workshops, wet lab sessions, and cadaveric training to give delegates hands-on exposure to the latest MIS techniques, fixation systems, and forefoot and flatfoot reconstruction procedures.
Across both days, Dr. Maritz delivered dedicated presentations — covering various aspects of minimally invasive techniques to arthroscopic surgery and deformity correction. Between lecture sessions, he played an active role as instructor across dry lab, wet lab, and cadaveric stations — guiding delegates through technique refinement on sawbone models and fresh tissue, and sharing the practical insights that only come from high-volume clinical practice.

“Teaching surgery is how we ensure that advances in technique reach patients beyond our own practice — it is one of the most impactful things a surgeon can do.”
